Australia will help lead the world out of recession and drive economic growth, according to an Ipsos Reuters poll.
The poll of 23,000 people across the globe has found that confidence is beginning to stabilise, with a resurgence of consumer confidence strongest in the Asia Pacific region.
While average global confidence remained flat, the percentage of Australians that deemed the current economic situation either ‘good’ or ‘very good’ jumped six percent, and outstripped the global average by seven percent.
The Ipsos study concluded that “our (Asia Pacific) region will lead the world out of recession and emerge relatively strongly.”
