The annual Licensing Executives Society of Australia and New Zealand (LESANZ) conference on investment in innovation and intellectual property held in Canberra over the weekend, proved to be a big success, with a number of high-profile international and local speakers coming together to discuss how to “create and drive impact” with innovation.
Guest speaker James Malackowski, CEO of Ocean Tomo, provided insight into the development of global IP markets along with the benefit of holding public auctions for IP; while Ramesh Mashelkar, the Chairman of the Global Research Alliance gave an inspiring address on ‘Gandhian Engineering’ – “the only solution to the world’s problems such as climate change and global warming.”
Dr Mashelkar spoke of innovation and its role in social transformation, which will see the developing world privy to the same technology as the developed world.
