Young innovators and entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 are being encouraged to enter the Science and Innovation Awards 2009.
The competition is open for young people in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry with a great idea that will help boost the industries.
There are 13 award categories up for grabs: animal welfare, dairy, eggs, emerging and niche rural industries, fisheries and aquaculture, forestry, grains, horticulture, meat and livestock, pork, processed meat, sugar and viticulture and oenology.
Winning applicants can apply for a grant of up to $20 000 to be used for their nominated project within a 12 month period.
In addition, one overall winner will be chosen to receive the inaugural Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s Award, valued at up to $30 000, in addition to the Industry Award grant.
