Online entrepreneur Ruslan Kogan has announced he’s expanded the range of electronics on his online store and is now selling Apple, Canon, Nikon and Samsung products at significantly discounted prices, by sourcing the products higher up in the supply chain.
In a move likely to upset many in the consumer electronics world, Kogan is selling iPad 2’s at a price 20 percent lower than Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, whilst Canon and Nikon DSLR’s are between 45 percent and 94 percent cheaper on Kogan.com.au.
According to Kogan, the expansion is a natural extension of his existing business.
“We have learned from our friends at Dell, who decided to add to their existing core range of computers with a whole host of complementary products, including Kogan TVs.”
The online retailer is able to deliver such low prices, by “cutting out the middlemen”, sourcing the products higher up in the supply chain and by saving on the overheads associated with running a bricks and mortar store.
“We are experts at finding new innovative ways of delivering the latest technology at market leading prices,” Kogan added.
The new range will come with 12 month warranties, that can be extended up to 5 years.
