Despite careful planning for the busiest time of the year, businesses can still be caught out by last-minute staffing problems in the lead up to Christmas.
Of course, there’s now an app for that. Workible is a new social recruitment app providing retailers with a talent pool of candidates ready to work when they need extra casual or part-time staff quickly.
Workible has a Standby Shortlist that lists a variety of part-time employees like retail helpers, wait staff, and delivery staff.
Fiona Anson, director of Workible, said the app is already being used by hotels looking for chefs and food and beverage staff, as well as retailers looking for store managers and sales staff.
“What makes Workible unique is instead of employers receiving hundreds of irrelevant candidates, employers and job seekers can connect around the specific skills and availability they require,” Anson said.
Job seekers can put themselves on the Standby Shortlist by entering their skills and availability, then wait to be contacted by employers looking to fill a relevant position.
“We have all sorts of employers looking for short term help as well as long term permanent positions,” Anson said.
