How Megan Dalla-Camina built an amazing business empowering women

Challenges are inevitable, but they also present opportunities for growth and innovation.

Megan Dalla-Camina

Megan Dalla-Camina was a high-flying corporate executive. She climbed the ladder, winning awards and leading billion-dollar strategies. But behind the success, she juggled single parenthood and faced burnout. At 35, she realized she needed a change – not just for herself, but for other women.

She’d always worked in male-dominated environments. It was the norm. Yet, a turning point came when she questioned the lack of women in leadership. This sparked a desire for change. She founded Women Rising to empower women and build their confidence. Her program has helped thousands worldwide, partnering with major corporations. Her vision is a world where women thrive on their own terms

A High-Flying Start

Megan described the founding of Women Rising as the culmination of her lifelong passion for women’s empowerment and leadership “I spent many years in corporate leadership roles and saw firsthand the challenges women face in climbing the career ladder and balancing their personal and professional lives,” she said.

“My inspiration came from the stories of countless women who were seeking guidance, support, and a community that understood their unique journeys, as well as my own personal journey. I wanted to create a space where women could rise together, embracing their holistic selves and achieving their fullest potential. The vision was to provide not just leadership training, but a transformational experience that integrated both personal and professional development.”

Building a community

We stay ahead by continuously evolving our programs based on feedback from our community and by experimenting with new formats

Megan emphasized that one of the most critical choices for Women Rising was to focus on a holistic approach to women’s leadership and empowerment. “Integrating evidence-based curriculum with live coaching and an engaged community set us apart from traditional leadership training. Another key strategy was building a global community, allowing women from diverse backgrounds and geographies to connect and support each other. Leveraging technology to deliver our programs online enabled us to scale quickly and reach a wider audience. Investing in high-quality content and continuously innovating our offerings to meet the evolving needs of women in the workforce were also pivotal to our growth.”

Megan highlighted that Women Rising stands out due to its evidence-based curriculum, unique delivery model, and global reach delivered virtually. Their programs cover both personal and professional development, providing a comprehensive approach to women’s leadership. “We leverage the latest research to ensure our curriculum is relevant and impactful. Our unique delivery model, which includes live coaching and an integrated community, ensures that participants receive personalised support and can connect with like-minded women worldwide. Additionally, we have an aligned Male Allies program, which engages men in supporting and advocating for women’s leadership, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.

We stay ahead by continuously evolving our programs based on feedback from our community and by experimenting with new formats and delivery methods to enhance the learning experience. Our holistic model, which addresses the whole woman, sets us apart and enables us to deliver transformative results. By combining these elements, we ensure that Women Rising remains at the forefront of innovation in the women’s leadership space.”

Overcoming challenges

An important lesson I’ve learned is the power of resilience and adaptability.

Megan noted that one of the biggest challenges for Women Rising was establishing their brand in a crowded market. “We overcame this by staying true to our mission and consistently delivering high-quality, impactful programs. Building a global community also presented logistical and cultural challenges, but we addressed these by fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and by tailoring our content to resonate with women from different backgrounds. An important lesson I’ve learned is the power of resilience and adaptability. Challenges are inevitable, but they also present opportunities for growth and innovation. Staying connected to our mission and being open to feedback has been crucial in navigating obstacles and driving success.”

“My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to start with a clear vision and a strong sense of purpose. Know why you’re doing what you’re doing, and let that drive you through the inevitable ups and downs. Surround yourself with a supportive network of mentors, peers, and advisors who can provide guidance and encouragement. Be willing to take risks, learn from failures, and pivot when necessary. Key lessons from my journey include the importance of staying true to your values, continuously innovating, and maintaining a balance between your personal wellbeing and professional ambitions. Building a business is a marathon, not a sprint, so take care of yourself along the way.”
