NSW small businesses will ‘Connect for Profit’ for Small Business September 2010 under the theme revealed by NSW Small Business Minister, Frank Terenzini today.
Mr Terenzini explained ‘connect for profit’ is about focusing on bringing businesses, industry, consumers and government together on a range of issues from financial planning to climate change.
“The 650,000-plus small businesses across NSW will have access to free and low cost events that will address priority issues for growing businesses”.
Over 300 events in total are expected to be held across all 14 regions of NSW.
“This includes sessions on how to build a high value business that is saleable; get a better handle on tax, assess the viability of a self managed super fund, improve sales, increase profitability or test a new business idea before investing in it.” Mr Terenzini said.
“650,000 small businesses in NSW alone make up 99.7 per cent of the NSW business sector. Small in size, but huge in aspiration, this entrepreneurial group of people represent significant business opportunities. Not afraid to take risks to make it, small business owners across the whole of NSW will have a thorough range of events that will help them hone in, connect, plan or decide on growth directions for this financial year”. he said.
Small Business September has become the biggest event in the small business sector. Now in its eleventh year, Industry and Investment NSW has set its sights on making this event bigger than the last. In 2009, over 20,000 small business owners attended 378 events across the State. 127 partners who ran events made that possible last year, and this year, Industry and Investment NSW expects even more connections for small business profit.
