KPMG Australia and Stone & Chalk Group have announced the first cohort of their Future Technology Program, which is designed to support the growth and development of Australian startups working on supply chain solutions.
The program aims to provide these startups with a personalised support program to help them rapidly grow and scale their businesses. The program is intended to help these startups succeed by providing them with access to resources, mentorship, and other forms of support.
The successful startup founders and their teams who are accepted into the program will receive support and resources to help them grow and scale their businesses. This support will include residency at one of Stone & Chalk Group’s startup hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide for a period of 12 months.
During this time, the startups will have access to a tailored support program from KPMG and Stone & Chalk Group that covers a range of areas, including investor readiness, industry insights, connections to potential clients, and mentoring on how to sell to large, global companies.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Australia’s supply chain and logistics industry face a number of challenges. These difficulties can include a lack of capital, competition from larger firms, a lack of data, inefficient processes, and a lack of international reach.
These issues can make it difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to grow and succeed in the highly competitive and rapidly changing supply chain and logistics world. However, initiatives and programmes are available to assist SMEs in overcoming these obstacles and succeeding in the industry.
According to internal research conducted by KPMG, 75 per cent of businesses in Australia experienced significant supply chain disruptions over the past year.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for innovation in the supply chain, as many businesses have struggled with limited data, insufficient risk management, and a lack of agility. The new program is aimed at addressing these challenges and helping Australian SMEs overcome them.
Sarah Vega, National Managing Partner, KPMG Futures commented: “Creating more resilient, transparent, and sustainable supply chains is one of the most important challenges of our time.
“The Future Technology Program helps us to uncover new innovative technology for our clients, who are hungry for solutions but often struggle to engage with startups in a positive and meaningful way.
“KPMG is thrilled to be bringing together this diverse cohort of exceptional entrepreneurs who are building new technology to drive real change for producers, companies, and, importantly, the planet.”
Future cohorts of the program will focus on startups solving problems in other sectors, with the next round slated to kick off in February 2023.
