Google has unveiled ‘GoMo’, a free tool designed to allow local businesses to test how smartphone savvy their websites are.
A mobile-friendly website is vital for every business, given half of the Australian population now owns a smartphone. To reach its customers, a businesses’ website has to be fast-loading, easily accessible, and simple to navigate. But alarmingly, 4 out of 5 business websites aren’t smartphone compatible and are let down by slow loading times and incorrectly-sized text, which make them frustrating for potential customers to use. So, Google has launched the ‘Go-Mo’ initiative has been to designed to help Australian SMBs go mobile.
The free tool has been designed to show businesses how their website looks on a mobile, thanks to smartphone simulator called the GoMoMeter. It will also provide a personalised report with customised recommendations on how to improve a website’s accessibility.
