Since the inaugural Australian Export Awards in 1963, the annual program has recognised 1,990 Australian businesses.
Applications for this year’s awards are open and close in June, with winners announced in November.
The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry partner to present the awards program.
Austrade CEO Xavier Simonet said the awards recognised the valuable contribution exporters make to Australia’s economic prosperity.
“It has been a tough couple of years for exporters. Many have faced significant challenges, particularly with global supply chain disruptions,” Mr Simonet said.
“It’s a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of Australian exporters that so many have overcome such adversity and continue to prosper and grow.
“Exporters will play an important role in Australia’s economic recovery and Austrade will continue to support their efforts.
“The 60th anniversary is a special milestone, and I encourage exporters to nominate for an award.
“I look forward to celebrating with national finalists and congratulating the winners in November.”
This year’s awards will showcase successful Australian export businesses across 13 categories, representing sectors such as agriculture, e-commerce, digital technologies, resources and health and biotechnology.
The 2022 Australian Exporter of the Year will be selected from the category winners.
