Small business has been a policy battleground this election campaign, and according to the Council of Small Business of Australia (COSBOA), for once there is plenty to compare.
With just one day to go until Australia heads to the polls, many small business owners are asking themselves which party best represents their needs.
Peter Strong, Executive Director of COSBOA said the council has welcomed key issues for small business being discussed at the national level.
“Competition policy, tax benefits, contract law, representation and red tape are front and centre of policy discussions among our politicians and their advisors,” he said.
The council has released a comparison table of the policies of the parties for small business.
“Tony Abbott’s Coalition has a focus on the big issues of competition policy and contract law while Kevin Rudd’s Labor Party is looking at support services and tax benefits. Both parties are looking to maintain or increase representation on key committees and in key agencies and also get rid of red tape,” Strong said.
