Recent research has suggested that 78 percent of franchisers do not have a tailored strategy to recruit women; however gym franchise Contours is bucking this trend, with women accounting for 90 percent of its franchisees.
According to Contours’ business development manager Simone Harris, owning a contours franchise is an attractive investment for women as it “gives them more than just a brand” and provides them with “a high level of corporate support and family friendly work hours.”
Harris believes that the friendly business model and extensive training and support are key ingredients in attracting women as franchisees.
“Relationships with all suppliers have been previously set up for women when they purchase a studio; this allows us the time to focus on serving the members rather than worrying about how to keep our business running smoothly,” she said.
