Hungry Australians can now order takeaway at the touch of a button, with the release of the itakeaway iPhone app.
Itakeaway is an iPhone app developed to make it more convenient for consumers to order from the widest variety of foods possible. Users can search for food by category, or using restaurant menus, and can also take advantage of any ‘daily specials’ on offer in a particular restaurant. Another feature is the ability to compile a list of ‘favourite meals’, improving the speed of online ordering. Orders can then be placed with any restaurant up to seven days in advance and are paid for online.
Essentially itakeaway is designed to streamline takeaway operations, according to itakeaway Chief Executive Tony Peter.
“Itakeaway provides total accuracy with each order and eliminates the ‘stand-up order’, with the added benefit of not having customers standing around the entrance waiting for their orders,” Mr Peter said.
“(Currently) we have Chinese, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Indian, Spanish and Japanese outlets already online. You name it, we have it,” added Mr Peter.
Itakeaway also aims at simplifying the business end of things, with restaurant orders automatically generated and confirmed, customer databases automatically updated, and the restaurants receiving comprehensive financial and sales reports as well as live online technical support 24/7 from itakeaway.
Restaurateurs no longer have to invest in their own website, iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad design and development because itakeaway has produced all the technical software for them, affirms Mr Peter.
“The comforting aspect for restaurateurs is that they control and update their own website and iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad App in real time 24/7,” said Mr Peter.
More than 300 restaurants have already signed up to the itakeaway app.
