MYOB CEO Tim Reed has applauded the Government for including measures in the Budget to encourage small business to enter the online space.
The latest MYOB Small Business Survey revealed that 60 percent of small business do not have their own business website, with many failing to take advantage of online opportunities to enhance their business.
Reed said that any support to help develop knowledge, experience and excitement about expanding small business to the online environment is welcomed.
“We are optimistic about funding and assistance provided to help small businesses transition to online business and e-commerce.”
Big companies have realised the value of helping small business launch their online businesses in recent months, with Yahoo and Google both announcing search marketing initiatives for small business to help them grow their business on the web, and attract new customers.
Reed also welcomed the Small Business Support Line in the Budget, with many small businesses looking for advice and help with their business in the downturn.
“For years small business owners have been telling us that there should be better information and support available for businesses. We are pleased to see the introduction of the Small Business Support Line.”
