The National Small Business Summit will be held in Brisbane in July this year, bringing together senior politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs, business advisors and owners.
Small businesses remain the backbone of business in the private sector in Australia, and this annual summit offers the only national opportunity to bring major players in the small business sector together. This year promises to be unmissable, with speakers including small business champion David Koch, federal opposition leader Tony Abbott, and Dynamic Business’ very own Jen Bishop. The Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and federal treasurer Wayne Swan are also expected to play key parts in the event.
The Minister for Small Business, Dr Craig Emerson will be one of the first speakers, offering a political perspective on the outlook for small business in the coming years. Koch will lead a session on emerging IT trends to make businesses more tech-savvy, the ATO are set to make a major announcement relating to small business and a panel will discuss how small business can be “green and clean”, saving money and driving growth. Bishop, editor of Dynamic Business magazine will be facilitating a session called “David and Goliath”, which looks at how small business can use innovative practices to beat the established brands at their own game. The event will end with a Gala dinner for networking and an awards ceremony, at which the Prime Minister will address guests. Registrations are now open at http://www.nsbs.com.au/register-now
