The Australian Innovation Challenge is now open to submissions, with the aim of driving some of the country’s best ideas to commercialisation or adoption.
The challenge is open to individuals and teams, who have ideas in a range of categories including:
- Environment
- Health
- Agriculture and food
- Minerals and energy
- Manufacturing and hi-tech design
- ICT
- Education
- Backyard innovation
Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of each category, with an overall winner awarded an additional cash prize. The winner will also have their idea featured in The Australian newspaper and website.
Entries must be received by 28 September, with finalists to be announced on 22 October. Entries in all categories will be judged on the following, equally-weighted criteria:
- Excellence in science, technology or engineering
- Likely positive economic, public good or environmental impact
- Originality, and
- Environmental sustainability
