Telstra has announced information security consultancy Stratsec as the Telstra ACT Business of the Year as a result of its continued innovation and expansion.
Stratsec has grown from a three-person start-up in 2004 to a business with 40 employees and offices throughout Australia and in Singapore, providing information security consulting and testing services for government and commercial clients.
The growth and development of Stratsec into a highly respected team of consultants and its success in overseas markets demonstrates its position as an industry leader, according to Telstra Business Group Managing Director and Ambassador of the Telstra Business Awards Deena Shiff.
“Judges described Stratsec as a world class, independent information, security consulting, testing and research business with enormous potential for further growth,” Ms Shiff said.
“Stratsec should feel a great sense of pride because the calibre of the 13 finalists in this year’s Awards was very impressive, reflecting the strength of Australia’s small and medium business sector,” Ms Shiff added.
The company offers a broad range of security consulting and assurance services such as business continuity and disaster recovery, digital forensics and threat and risk assessments. Its competency in these areas has seen Stratsec attain a Department of Defence contract, a licence as an Australasian Information Security Evaluation Facility, a Malaysian Government contract and international clients such as Microsoft and IBM.
Stratsec will now be judged against the category winners from other states and territories in the national Telstra Business Awards. The national winner is to be announced in Sydney on August 20 and will receive a share of $400,000 in cash and prizes.
