Virgin Blue has been voted as Australia’s best overall airline in a poll of more than 4000 flyers, conducted by Choice, the leading consumer group.
The poll looked at 4,307 passengers who had recently flown domestically in the last three years, and Virgin Blue took top billing with an overall satisfaction rate of 68 percent.
Regional Express came in second, followed by Qantas, Jetstar, and Tiger Airways coming in last.
Qantas’ rating has dropped substantially due to the number of technical difficulties that have plagued the airline in recent months. However, consumers still believe it is a safe airline, and many are still lured to Qantas because of their frequent flyer program.
When broken down, value for money ranked as the most important, with Virgin Blue coming in as the airline that was the best value for money.
