Atlassian, the Sydney headquartered software start-up has taken home the Fairfax Employment Marketing Award for best Onsite HR Team for their Atlassian 32 recruitment campaign this year.
In July Atlassian finalised a $60 million funding round with VC firm Accel Partners taking a minority stake in the company. Atlassian has been an innovator in the hiring of new staff after last financial year undertaking the ‘Atlassian 32′ recruitment campaign, which aimed to hire 32 engineers by June 30 by leveraging social media instead of traditional recruitment channels. Atlassian’s recruitment strategy paid off with Atlassian’s head of human resources Joris Luijke telling iTnews the company received over 2,500 applications for the 32 positions.
Formally welcoming guests to the Friday night gala, Fairfax Media CEO and Managing Director, Brian McCarthy, said: “These awards have become an industry benchmark of creative and recruitment excellence.
“There were some stand out campaigns that were at least as good as, and in many cases better than, anything seen globally. We believe that now, more than ever, we need to celebrate the exceptional talent and innovative strategies making a positive impact within recruitment advertising,” Mr McCarthy said.
The Awards were chosen from over 60 entries by an independent panel of judges with wide ranging marketing experience and specialist knowledge in the field of recruitment.
Fairfax General Manager Key Categories, NSW Publishing, John Brand, who was also one of the head judges, said: “Over the past year the recruitment industry has had a tough ride and we believe FEMA offers something tangible for the Australian recruitment industry to participate in, acknowledging the first-rate efforts of many recruitment newcomers, as well as recognised brands.”
