Small businesses can now access a new free computer-based information tool – the latest addition to the Australian Government’s extensive range of assistance and resources for small businesses.
The Small Business Resource Kit brings together essential information and valuable tips on a USB drive and has been launched by the Minister for Small Business, Senator Nick Sherry in Melbourne.
“Having essential tips and guides on a USB drive that can be plugged into a computer at any time, is extremely convenient,” Senator Sherry said.
“Small business operators are generally time-poor – they are focused on developing their businesses and need access to resources in a way that suits their busy schedules. This kit gives small business operators instant access to resources in a variety of formats, including video files, audio recordings, as well as traditional handbooks.”
“The kit also has useful templates and a range of other vital resources that can help make a business a success.”
“This latest initiative complements the Australian Government’s other valuable services to help small businesses, such as the Small Business Support Line and business.gov.au information portal – both highly successful.
“The Gillard Government knows just how important small business is to the wealth of our nation – 2 million businesses providing jobs for around 5 million Australians. We want to make sure it continues to be a dynamic and vibrant player in the national economy.”
Anyone planning to start or grow their small business can obtain a Small Business Resource Kit by contacting the Small Business Support Line on 1800 77 7275 or email sbsl@innovation.gov.au. Or visit business.gov.au/resourcekit for more information.
