A workspace that is hygienic promotes better productivity, reducing the chances of becoming ill or passing on illness, than one that is germ-ridden.
Take a look at the state of the things you touch – your mouse, keyboard and telephone are good starting points – and make a point of cleaning them once a week to stop a build up of dust and bacteria.
Try not to eat at your desk, because food scraps and crumbs are magnets for germs. If you have no other option, don’t work at the same time because you increase the likelihood of spilling food. Remember to wipe up after you’ve finished.
